Becoming an English Rose

I've had my Citizenship Ceremony during my recent holiday.  I should have applied ages ago, but never got round to it but I think it worked out really well.  I decided to have a private ceremony so, I was the only one who became a citizen but, it felt so special to have close friends and family present to share in the experience.  The town's mayor and mayoress attended and he confided in me that it was his first private ceremony as well which, meant we were all nervously excited.

I felt quite philosophical about the experience even though I am not giving up my citizenship as a South African.  Where I was born and where I grew up, will always be a part of me but, my future is my life with Hubby who is British.  We have a very close, special relationship and I could not help but think of the words of the Biblical Ruth:  "Where you go I will go, and where you stay I will stay.  Your people will be my people and your God will be my God.  Where you die I will die, and there I will be buried."

Dutch delights

We're back from an absolutely fabulous 5 days in Holland.  My favourite being Keukenhof where I could not get enough of all the tulips, flowers, colours etc.  I love flowers so, to see so many varieties in such abundance and in so many colours was an amazing treat.  So much inspiration, I would highly recommend it!  It was my second visit to Keukenhof, but this time I went with Hubby and my parents.

I have taken hundreds of photo's and both my Dad and Hubby are keen photographers so, it was great to have their back-up as well.  Although I was really pleased with the results from my Nikon Coolpix.  I'll leave you with one more.  Hope your Spring has also been a colourful one full of hope for new life and new beginnings.
